A collaboration between Center for the Empowerment of Families, Inc and Pony Box Dance Theatre, The Dance for Healing Project was officially created in 2014, to provide therapeutic dance and follow-up trauma recovery mentorship to youth populations in underserved and marginalized communities throughout Los Angeles County and Juvenile Hall detention centers. There are many recipients of our ballet program that have demonstrated tremendous progress after them leaving juvenile hall. Our dance classes are both for boys and girls. Our role is to keep them engaged with therapeutic dance while supporting them and their families through their process of learning how to cope with challenges. We are committed to teaching them trust systems to help them sustain best physical and mental health wellness.
