High Risk Youth

Center for the Empowerment of Families (CEF) is committed to reducing the recidivism rate for detained youth and others on probation. Through its partnership with the Los Angeles Probation Department and Faith-based Organizations, CEF offers a certificated educational program to community leaders, teachers, parents, relatives and interested others to teach effective relationship skills to teens, parents and other caretakers who want to enrich communication and understanding for themselves and with each other.

As well, teens are educated on life skills, inclusive of character building. Our educational model emphasizes the development of strong character integrated with skill building. Our participants report feeling better and being better as measured through self-reports and from those significant others in their lives. High Schools, group homes, foster families, faith-based and other community leaders train with our best practices, evidence-based and promising practices curricula.
